At the moment, one of the hottest American reality television series is MTV’s The Girl Code. The series debuted this spring in April and has been gaining in popularity among American female viewership. The attractive all girl cast act as hosts of the show, and are all a wide array of accomplished talents in the USA. Each host offers funny anecdotes, relationship advice, wardrobe tips and silly complaints on guys and dieting.
Esther Ku, one of the main cast is a Korean American and Female-Comedian born in Chicago. Esther got her big break as a finalist on the 2008 competition show Last Comic Standing. Taking the eleventh place title on the NBC show, she was one of the only Asian Women making her mark on American TV at that time. Famous and controversial Radio Personality, Howard Stern, had Esther compete in another competition on Sirius Satellite Radio. In that Competition she won as a finalist and the title Hottest Funniest Chick in the USA.
NBC also had Esther star in the Stand-up for Diversity Showcase in 2006. She has performed with Japanese band PeelanderZ of SXSW fame and still does comedy tours. In her live performances Esther has embraced both girlish clothing, relaxed looks and a funny colorful style. She has even jokingly cosplay’ed as Cleopatra and 80s Cartoon Jem and the Holograms. her shows.
